HuffPost, a popular far-left news website, just got rid of a bunch of their reporters on Thursday, but no one knows why. Laura Bassett, a “culture, gender and politics reporter” said she got laid off after working at Huffington Post for 8 long years: Some personal news: I”ve been laid off along with some of my incredible colleagues. It”s been a wonderful 8 years at HuffPost, and I”ll miss my newsroom family more than anything. If anyone is looking for a culture/gender/politics reporter, longform and short, I”m available. Others weren”t so kind: And nothing of value was lost – the trad chad (@thattradchad) January 24, 2019 Great news! Congrats! – Dodge Mcdaniels (@dodgemcdaniels1) January 24, 2019 Nick Wing was a senior reporter at the company and wrote about “people, policies and things that get us in trouble”: After 9 years at HuffPost, I”ve been let go alongside some amazing talents. I managed to survive the aggregation turbine and so much more here, but couldn”t escape layoffs. Let me know if you”re looking for a reporter/editor to cover anything on guns/drugs/criminal justice. – Nick Wing (@nickpwing) January 24, 2019 Lauren Weber revealed her “team” was “eliminated” today: My team @huffpost got eliminated today. It’s been a great ride, from building a Morning Email list of ~1 million people to covering Ebola’s resurgence. Grateful for the time I’ve had and ready to write for you on public health and more: [email protected]. The beautiful, diverse, inclusive baby we built from scratch is gone. For those who are wondering, @HuffPost Opinion – the entire section – is being eliminated.
